Elizabeth E. Baker, 94, of Crescent City passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Elizabeth was born December 21, 1916, in Danforth, a daughter of Luke U. and Emma Decker Eimen.
She was raised by her aunt, Ida Decker.
Elizabeth married Chester L. Baker on March 19, 1938 in Danforth. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1986.
The Eimen and Decker Families were pioneer settlers of Danforth, the Deckers in 1867 and the Eimens in 1868.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana Darrohn of Watseka and Gloria (Glen) Molck of Rockford; one son, Steven (Pat) Baker of Thawville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Irvin and Loren Eimen.
Mrs. Baker graduated from Onarga High School in 1936. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Thawville and president of Ladies Aid.
Elizabeth was a member of and past president of AARP, president of Prairieview Auxiliary and active with Red Cross in Watseka and Democratic Precinct.
She was a school bus driver first in Onarga, then in 1958 she was a driver for Thawville and finally retired in 1974 with the Ford-Central Schools.
Elizabeth also helped her husband farm.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Thawville. Rev. Michael Poynter will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgeland Twp. Cemetery in Thawville.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to American Kidney Association or Donor's Choice.
