Lieutenant Robert J. Busch, DSN 0306, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 07/18/1949. After the academy he was assigned to the 3Rd, Canine Division, Police Academy, 7Th, Police Reserve Section, 5Th and the 2Nd . He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 08/14/1977. He was awarded 1 Department Award of Excellence on 10/01/1949. When he retired on 08/05/1984, he had a total of 35.05 years of dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He was also of veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

Loving husband of Shirley Busch (nee Ellebracht); beloved father of Sally (John) Boyer, Laurie Busch and Rob Busch; dear grandfather of Johnny (Dana), Bonnie (Scott) Hinsley, Adam, Josh and Zach Boyer; great-grandfather of Andrew, Grace and Faith Hinsley, Abby and Johnny Boyer; brother, brother-in-law, cousin and friend of many.
Bob served in WWII and the Korean War, retired as a Lieutenant with 35 years of service with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Dept., worked in security with McDonnell Douglas, and was a member of many organizations.
Services:The Stygar Family of Funeral Service is caring for Bob's family at the STYGAR FLORISSANT CHAPEL. Visitation will be held on Wed., Oct. 31, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (formerly St. Jeromes).
Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Cavary.
