Michael D. Allen, DSN 8291, was a former Saint Louis Police Officer. He started his career with the department when he was hired as a Police Cadet on 03/06/1972. In this capacity he worked in the 7Th, Bureau of Investigation, 7Th, and the Training Division at the academy.

Officer Allen received his commission on 09/03/1974 and entered the academy. After the academy he had the following assignments. They were the 6Th, 7Th, Liquor Section, 7Th, Robbery-Burglary Division, and finally the Mobile Reserve Section. During his career he was awarded 6 Chief's Letters of Commendation on 06/07/1976, 12/15/1979, 02/05/1980, 06/25/1980, 11/12/1980, and 02/18/1983. On 08/08/1979 he was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for police work above and beyond the call of duty. Officer Allen resigned from the department on 02/26/1983. At that time he had completed 7.16 years of service. Officer Allen was also a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and attained the rank of Petty Officer 2Nd Class.

Allen was buried on November 5Th 1987. He was 34 years of age.
