Velvalene (Betty) Abdenour went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2011, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Blackshear, GA, and has resided in Jacksonville since 1938. Betty survived her 8 siblings and is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Cy Abdenour; her son, Joseph Abdenour and wife Debbie; daughters, Mary Abdenour Beck and husband Cliff; and Tammi Abdenour Bube and husband Tom. She has 5 grandchildren; Joey Abdenour, Rhonda Abdenour, Christopher Pfab, Thomas Bube, and Sarah Bube, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will be having visitation on Sunday, January 16, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home on 940 Cesery Blvd. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home. Private interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
