C. Foster Albright, 91, of Winfield, passed away Jan. 11, 2009.
Cremation has taken place. His family plans a private Christian celebration of his life at a later date. Arrangements are by Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home.
Memorials are to the First Baptist Church.
Foster was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Kanopolis and attended schools there. He graduated from Washburn University in Topeka. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and graduated with honors from Officer Candidate School. During World War II, Foster served in Europe as a field artillery commander and later with Gen. Patton's Third Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
After returning to Kansas, he married Wilma J. Trimble in March 1946. He secured a job as an accountant with the Independent Salt Mine and later served as manager during a career of 40 years.
Foster and Wilma moved to Ellsworth in the early years of marriage and raised their family. Upon retirement, they moved to Salina and began a ministry to nursing centers, providing Christian music and Bible studies. In 2002, they moved to Winfield to be with family.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Albright; his son, Kyle Albright, and wife, Kim, Wichita; his daughter, Susan Dean, Winfield; grandchildren, Kevin Dean, Hutchinson, Micael Dean-Stanton, and husband, Douglas, Winfield; Mandy Ricke, and husband, Chad, Wichita, Joseph Knipp and Ashleigh Knipp, both of Wichita; and eight great- grandchildren.
