He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in Chidester, Ark., to the late Mighty and Minnie Blake. He attended schools in Chiderster in AR prior to relocating to Rockford. He was employed with National Lock Division for more than 30 years until his retirement in his early 50's. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was loved by many.
Survived by three children; two sisters,. He also leaves many memories to be cherished by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces, and many friends.
Clyde is predeceased also by wife, Mildred L. Seabrook Blake; brothers, Claude and Joseph Blake; daughters, C. Renee and Doris Blake; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Sadie Seabrook; and brother-in-law, Melvin Seabrook.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Rogers, VNA Hospice, and River Bluff Nursing Home and staff. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Collins and Stones Funeral Home, 128 S. Fifth St., Rockford, with visitation from noon to time of service; the Rev. Malone will deliver the eulogy. In lieu of a repast, light refreshments will be served during the visitation.
