Mrs. Linda Sue McClure Bostic, age 62, of Douglas, Georgia, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Bostic, a native of Grayson County, was born January 12, 1944, the daughter of the William and Maggie Poteet McClure. She was a homemaker and a retired bookkeeper.
She is survived by her husband, William Raymond Bostic of Douglas; one daughter, Debra (Mark) Gentry of Douglas; one son, Richard Bostic of Dawson Spring, Ky., three brothers, Shirl Ray McClure of Little Rock Springs, AR, Billy Joe McClure of Glasgow Ky., and Danny McClure of Louisville Ky. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Tesha Shepard, Brandon Bostic, Andrew Gentry and Alex Gentry; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Allen Bostic; and her parents.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 8, 2006, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Chancey officiating. Special taped selections of "Goodbye Is The Saddest Word" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" were provided by family. Jay Beverly, pianist , provided soft music for the prelude & postlude.
Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ben Hill County, Georgia. Pallbearers were: Roy Waldroup, Ray Spinks, Johnny Thompson, Sr., Jerry Abernathy, Ira Sharpe and Ronnie Barron.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
