Leona M. Epp, 92, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Buhler Sunshine Home in Buhler. She was born June 11, 1914, in Inola, Okla., to John L. and Marie D. Schroeder Strauss. A Buhler resident since 1934, moving from Lakin, she had worked as a cook at the Crusader Grill for 10 years. She was a member of Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church and a former member of the Herwanna. On Sept. 26, 1937, she married Herb B. Epp in Buhler. He died Oct. 12, 1989. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Willison Wright; and a brother, Arnold Strauss. Survivors include a brother, John F. Strauss of Garden City; two sisters, Marie Siemens of Buhler, and Malinda Hassman of McPherson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Nick Rempel, pastor. Burial will be in Buhler Municipal Cemetery.
