Maplewood Native Dies Suddenly

George Babeyko, 50, of 66 Cohoes Rd., Maplewood, a machine operator for the John DiGuilio Construction Co., Albany, was pronounced dead on arrival at Samaritan Hospital yesterday after being stricken at his home.

Rensselaer County Coroner Anthony E. Matera issued a decision of death due to natural causes.

The Maplewood Fire Dept. was called and the inhalator was used until the Boght Ambulance arrived.

Mr. Babeyko, a member of the Maplewood Volunteer Fire Dept., was born in Colonie, the son of Walter Babeyko and the late Mary Furchak. He was educated in Maplewood public schools. Mr. Babeyko was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Maplewood Post, American Legion, and the Union of Operating Engineers.

He is survived by two brothers, Carl and William Babeyko of Maplewood; two half brothers, John of California and Michael Mihalko of Wynantskill, and two sisters, Mrs. John Habnac of Schenectady and Mrs. Anna Gardiner of Catskill.

The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Felock Funeral Home, 1809 Fourth Ave., Watervliet, and at 9 a.m. from St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church where the Holy Divine Liturgy will be sung. Interment will be in St. Basil's Cemetery, Colonie.
