My Great-Grandmother was born Mahala J. McGary she went by the name of Jana. Her mother name was Keziah McCalister-James Her Father name was Robert McCalister. Jana married John Franklin Williams on August 6 ,1885 in Brown wood, Texas he was the son of Andrew Williams and Martha James-Williams. Jana and John had 5 children.

Jana occupation shows to be that of an missionary in the 1930 Census. She reported that our ancestors fought at Goliad and the Alamo,help to write the Declaration of Texas Independence. Her father was a confederate soldier,her uncles were rangers on the front fighting the Indians.
Her father cousin was the mother of Chief Quanah Parker --Cynthia Ann Parker.
She was a true Texas pioneer.
