Eddie Joe Abraham, 76, passed away Feb. 18, 2004, from liver cancer. He was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Bristow, Okla.
Elvia Jean Abraham, 73, passed away Jan. 30, 2004, from breast and bone cancer. She was born May 13, 1930, in Queens, N.Y.
Eddie and Elvia were married 48 years and passed away 19 days apart. They will now spend eternal life together in heaven. Ed worked as a maintenance instructor for Flying Tigers and then Federal Express for more than 50 years. Elvia was a full-time mother and a wonderful homemaker for her family. In their early years of marriage, they loved to go camping and fishing. Together, they enjoyed bingo and Las Vegas. Ed was a life member of the Elks Lodge and a charter officer of the Simi Valley Elks. He was Elk of the year in 1998. He also enjoyed golf, auto racing, shooting and World War II history. Elvia was a member of the Emblem Club. She was a great swimmer and at home loved the home shopping channels.
They are survived by two sons, Mark Abraham and Scott Abraham and his wife, Patricia; and grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew. They were devoted to each other, loving parents and wonderful grandparents. They will be deeply missed.
A memorial service for Ed and Elvia will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in the chapel of Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home, 2636 Sycamore Drive, Simi Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home, 1-805-526-6677.
