Arthur B. Rose was a physician and graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina in Charleston in 1846. He was the son of Arthur Gordon Rose and Elizabeth Wigg Barnwell. He married Emma Eliza Guerard on Nov. 20, 1850 at St. Philip's in Charleston and they had 10 children. His wife is also buried at Magnolia, as well as other family members.
