Jennie was the last - number five and a twin - of nine children born to George and Frances Kovach. Jennie was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kan., and grew up in a vibrant ethnic and culturally diverse area known as Strawberry Hill.
She loved sports - both as a participant as a young woman and as a spectator. Her great loves were the Kansas City Royals and Kansas Jayhawks Men's Basketball and Friday night Bingo at the Moose Lodge. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1980, and a son and daughter, who died at birth. Three sisters and five brothers also preceded her in death, which included her twin brother, Louis Kovach, who died in February 2012.
Surviving are her three children, Janice (Jan) Miller, Fairfax, Va., Frank (Sandra) Bukovac , McKinney, Texas, and Marilyn (Mark) Tearney, Kansas City, Kan. Also surviving are three grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Christ the King Catholic Church, 53rd and Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, Kan., followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, 38th and State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations the Christ the King School.
Jennie's family would like to thank her many friends at Victory Hills Retirement Community, her home for the last 18 years and the staff who helped with her care.
