"Jackie" Ferullo was born in Woburn, Ma. He attended Woburn schools, graduating from Woburn
High in 1940. He also attended the New England Art School. He was an interior decorator of great ability, being employed at different times by the Gorins Co. of Woburn and Somerville, by the W.t. Grant Co., and by Kenney's in Boston. In high school he was recognized as an outstanding baseball player and he captained the 1940 team.
On July 10, 1942 he entered the Army Air Forces. After having attended aerial gunnery school ay Tyndall Field, Fl., he was transferred to Avon Park, Fl., where he remained until he went overseas in February of the following year. He was reported as missing in action in Sardinia on July 4, 1943 and was officially presumed to be dead on July 4, 1944. His remains were eventually recovered with the rest of his crew, but they were unidentifiable and they were all buried together in one mass grave.
