She worked for 27 years rearing her children, then went to work outside the home in the lumber industry. She retired in 2003 as composer operator at Springfield Forest Products. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church for 26 years.
Survivors include her mother, Fabiola Vaughn, of Dayton, Ohio; five daughters, Tina McCandless of Federal Way, Wash., Teresa Lau of Aloha, Marcia Beard of Creswell, Denise Kelp of Eugene and Melaine Higbee of Troutdale; a son.
