|Death: ||Oct. 7, 1884|
I just noticed your memorial and thought I would send you some info. Awhile back Terry Harrison at the library asked me to look this man up, I think the stone may be gone now and that a garage has been put up just in the last couple of years.
His full name is George Michael Bachman, husband of Gertrude, and he is buried in Goodell, Hancock, Iowa, USA at the Amsterdam aka Avery Township Cemetery. This was his original stone, but research indicates that since he died so much earlier than the rest of the family that they redid the stones when his wife died and somehow the original ended up in Mason City. The other stones are listed on F-a-G and I have a small, incomplete family tree started on ancestry.com from when I was doing my research.
They had eight children and many grandchildren, perhaps one of them was somehow associated with this house at one point. It's a very interesting story to ponder.
Have a great night!

I would like to see and photograph this stone, but I'm not sure how one asks about a gravestone on another person's property without being forcibly removed from it.|
