Melba Jean Acres, 64, of Oneida, passed away February 12, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Born in Scott County, June 19, 1939, she was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bettie Boshears Jeffers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Oneida. She is survived by her husband, Johnny B. Acres of Oneida; one daughter, Stephanie Boyatt and husband, Bob, of Oneida; two grandchildren: Rachel Boyatt and Johnathan Boyatt; three sisters: Elva Ruth Yaden and Ophelia Laxton, both of Pioneer, and Lea June Jeffers and husband, Don, of Oneida; two brothers: Ervin Jeffers and wife, Clolene, of Oneida, and Millard Tim Jeffers and wife, Mary Lou, of Harrison; three sisters-in-law: Phyllis Acres, Patricia Chambers and husband, Junior, all of Oneida; and Josephine Nitzschke and husband, Harold, of Sunbright; four brothers-in-law: Norman Acres and wife, Pauline, of Helenwood; Robert Acres and wife, Deloris of Layton, Utah; Phillip Acres and wife, Brenda, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and Rev. David Acres and wife, Paulette, of Wartburg; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Burial at Carson Memorial Park. Arrangments ty Jones & Son Funeral Home.
