Amma Gertrude "Gertie" Adair of Eugene, OR. died Jan. 11 of age-related causes. Amma was born June 25, 1913, in Piniele, MT, to Ernest and Amma Blackwell Cherry. She married Roe Adair on July 6, 1931 in Brodus, MT. He died April 14, 1977. She had lived in this area since 1955, working in several restaurants including Snappy's, Payless in Eugene and Nasty Nora's in Springfield. She enjoyed flowers, canning, books, walking, gardening, crocheting, travel and helping neighbors. She was a frequent volunteer and a member of the Salvation Army Women's League. Survivors include a son, Kenneth of Eugene; a daughter, Ethel Oberman of Sutherlin; two brothers, Howard Cherry of Oakland and Midge Cherry of Ukiah, CA; two sisters: Juanita Oberman of Coos Bay and Fran Pullman of Cave Junction; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, and a grandson, Ronald, died previously.
Burial at Lane Memorial Gardens.
