German king and Holy Roman Emperor. Second child of King Rudolf and Gertrud Anna von Hohenberg. He was elected as german king on June 24th, 1298 in Mainz and was crowned two months later. He was stabbed by his nephew Johann. His wife Elisabeth of Carinthia, whom he had married in 1276, bore him twelve children.
