Francis H. Achuff died from wounds received in action. He was reburied in Philadelphia National Cemetery from the Germantown ME burial ground on 28 May 1902.
He served in Co. A, 106th PA Volunteers with the rank of Captain and as Captain and commander of Company L, 51st Pennsylvania Emergency Troops, being mustered in on July 3, 1863 and being mustered out on September 2, 1863.
