Son of Gilbert and Dorothea "Dordi" (Nelson) Anderson. Husband of Marie (Viste) Anderson, married Dec 27, 1899. Father of six children: Dora, Gladys, Harold, Conrad, Glenn, and Gertrude (Glenn and Gertrude were twins). Farming was his main trade. He was a charter member of Forest Lutheran Church and the Men's Lutheran Brotherhood. He died at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, and was buried close to his parents and his wife at the Forest Lutheran Church in Carnot, WI.

Funeral Services for 82-Year-Old Forestville Town Man Held Monday

Carnot - John Anderson, 82, retired Town of Forestville farmer, died Friday evening at 9:30 at a Green Bay hospital where he had been a patient five weeks. He had been in poor health about a year.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock at the Forest Lutheran church, the Rev. H. C. M. Jahren officiating. Burial was in the Forest cemetery. Pallbearers were Goodman Gigstead, Elden Nelson, Melvin and Emil Olson and Frank and Marvin Seiler. Funeral arrangements were taken care of by the Haucke Funeral home.

A native of Manitowoc, where he was born Nov. 7, 1867, Mr. Anderson came to this vicinity as a child of four. Outside of several years spent in Michigan lumber camps, he resided continuously on the home farm.

Mr. Anderson served the Forest church as a board member.

Mrs. Anderson, the former Marie Viste, whom he married in the Tanum church Dec. 27, 1899, died eight years ago and survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Leo (Dora) Vertz, Mrs. Lucien (Gladys) Boshka and Mrs. Rupert (Gertrude) Johnson; three sons, Harold, Conrad and Glenn; one brother, Anton Anderson, and nine grandchildren.

Those attending the funeral included Guy Larson, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Larson, Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Larson, West DePere; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Goodmander, Mrs. Erwin Gunnlaugsson and Mrs. Sylvia Cornell, Washington Island, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vertz and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Vertz, Egg Harbor.
