|Death: ||Jan. 1, 1931|
Born Theodore Albers in Germany, he entered the Capuchin novitiate at Calvary, receiving the religious name of Michael. A very hardworking Brother, his longest assignment was at Saint Joseph's Friary in Appleton, where he was stationed for thirty years.
Poor health forced him to retirement to the Calvary infirmary at age 83. There, he cared for the cemetery, using the opportunity to pray for his fellow deceased Brothers. Those who knew him remembered Michael as "a true Capuchin – simple and charitable". Michael was the focus of many humorous stories which the Brothers reveled in retelling. He died in the early morning hours of January 1, 1931, of an apparent heart attack at Mount Calvary, after 58 years of religious life.
