She was born May 13, 1937 in Dubois County, Indiana to Oscar Marion and Erma Bell (Baker) Atkins. Bettyann was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and perusing cook books. She was a graduate of Birdseye High School and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Jasper. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Maurice Lee "Huck" Abell, who died June 29, 2004; and one sister, Rosa A. Nicholson.
She is survived by one sister, Marian Louise Angerer of Jasper, IN, and four nephews, Jerry Angerer of Jasper, IN, Joe Nicholson of Cannelburg, IN, Donnie Nicholson of Portersville, IN, and Keith Nicholson of Alfordsville, IN.
Funeral services for Bettyann Abell will be held at 2:OO P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye.
