FULTON - Katie Oneal Griffus, 85, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1918, in Marion County, Ala., to the late A.F. and Beulah Mims Chambers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Bay Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, sewing and working in the yard.


Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Gary Puckett and Bro. A.T. Dewberry officiating. Burial will be in Shottsville Cemetery in Shottsville, Ala.


Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie R. Griffus of Fulton; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Lucas, Robin Hatfield and Greg Lucas; five great-grandchildren, Derek Lucas, Matt Lucas, Brittany Lucas, Tyler Lucas and Justin Hatfield; three half brothers, William Chambers, Clinton Chambers and Neamon Chambers, all of Georgia; two half sisters, Rethie Murphree of Birmingham and Geneva Woodall of Georgia.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Brice R. Griffus, in 1986; her parents; and three daughters, Fancy Lucas, Gloria Bradford and Diane Ganaway.


Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
