Grave recorded in 1956 by the Chief Tusquahoma Chapter D.A.R. for the series "Louisiana Tombstone Transcriptions", Volume I, Page 169.
The DAR transcribed the surname as "Averette", but it is clearly spelled with an I on the tombstone.
Online family trees claim this is Jasper Newton Averitte, born in Lincoln Parish to Newton Richard and Laura Lenard Averitte. He was the husband of Mary Emma Pardue and they were the parents of Grady, Shelton, Truman, R.L., Lurline, Estaline and Marie.
