Margaret Timmons, daughter of Smith & Hetty (King) Timmons, was born 20 May 1805 in Sussex County, Delaware. In his Last Will & Testament (1838 Delaware), Smith Timmons referes to his daughter, Margaret as "Joshua Jarman wife Peggy Jarman".

Peggy married 1st Cornelius Hoagland in 1828 in Kingston, NJ and her second marriage was about 1832 iin Delaware, to Joshua German/Jarman.

Joshua, Peggy and their family moved to Indiana about 1842. Both she & her husband died in California Township, Starke Co., IN.

They had:
1 & 2.) unknown daughters b. between 1825 and 1830
3.) John Wesley German b. Aug 1832
4.) Sarah Adeline German b. ca 1834
5.) Matthias/Matthew J. German b. ca 1836
6.) Lucretia German b. ca 1839
7.) Joshua A. German b. Jan 1841
8.) Henrietta German b. Mar 1844
9.) Wingate S. German b. 1848
10.) Margaret J. German b. Feb 1849.

Note: Although their surname name was still spelled "Jerman" on land patents issued in the early 1850's, by the 1860's the family consistently spelled the name "German."
