| Birth: | Jul. 30, 1886 | | Death: | May 1, 1900 | Since child labor laws came into effect (largely due to exploitation by Coal Mining), 13 years old boys would not be allowed on the Mine property. But there you were turning in a days work for a days pay. Until 10:28 on May 1st, 1900, when an explosion ended life for 200 good men. Almost every one underground was caught in either the explosion, fire or after damp (carbon monoxide poisoning). Coal was mined deep inside the hill, over a mile to the mining area. There was no escape!
It isn't a life but it is a thought. In this thought there is life. Amen.
