MILO - Gail L. Burlock, 77, wife of the late Al Burlock, died peacefully May 14, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Gail was born Dec. 14, 1932, in Milo, the daughter of Sam and Estelle (Decker) McSorley. Gail was a waitress in Milo for many years. She loved her grandchildren, horse racing, dancing, playing cards, the beach and her velvet Elvis.

Gail was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Charlie; and her sister, "Bunny" Colter. She is survived by one daughter, Paula Dupont and her husband, Ben, of Brookline, N.H.; and three sons, Daniel Lyford and his wife, Cindy, of Nashua, N.H., Gary Lyford and his wife, Ella, of LaGrange and Dennis Lyford and his wife, Kim, of Milo. She is also survived by her siblings, Roy McSorley and his wife, Pat, of Elliotsville, Donna Paul of Brownville and Barry McSorley of Sebec. Gail leaves behind her 13 loving grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family thanks her good friends and caretakers, Deanna Libby and Kelly York; and her very "special" niece, Susan Larson, for all their love and support.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Community Health and Counseling Hospice, 1093 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.

Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at

You can only have one Mother
Patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,
To Mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.

As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.

Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear Mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.
