Andrew J. Fiondella Sr.
With wonderful memories and deep sadness we announce the passing of Andrew J. Fiondella Sr. 65, into the arms of God on September 21, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 12, 1942 in Southington he had been a resident of Southington for 55 years, 10 years in Bristol and most recently fulfilled his dream and made his home in Jensen Beach FL. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving son Andrew Fiondella Jr. of Bristol and his fiancée Deborah Empronto and his brother-in-law Paul Zarrella of Southington. In addition to his son and brother-in-law, he leaves his grandchildren, Delina Rose Fiondella, Andrew Fiondella III of Southington and Nicole Zarrella of East Haddam. Andy also leaves his companion Kassandra Derosa whom he made his home with and cared for him during his short time in FL. He also leaves two niece's Kim Relihan and Tracy Dlugos of Southington and two nephews, Jeff Zarrella, of North Carolina, and Dale Zarrella of Maui, Hawaii. He was formally the husband of Beverly Zarrella Fiondella. In addition he leaves his companions children Nichole and David DeRosa. Andrew has joined his mother Edith Izzo Fiondella & father Louis Fiondella along with his brother Louie Fiondella and his sister-in-law June Bell Fiondella who passed away before him. Andy's life was blessed with many wonderful Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many friends. Among them he leaves his long time friend of more than sixty years Peter Pasquale Jr. of Southington. He leaves a legacy of hard work where he established, The Fiondella Trucking Co., Andy's Deli and Andy's Restaurant & Lounge all of Southington. He worked for yard Metal in Southington for 12 years where he retired in 2008. Andy's passion was deep-sea fishing and golf. Many will miss Andy, but our memories of him will live with us always. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4-8 p.m..
