Birth: 1748
North Carolina, USA
Death: Feb. 11, 1848, USA

According to the book "Soldiers & Patriots of the American Revolution Buried In Indiana", Pg. 92, Nathaniel was "probably" born in North Carolina, possibly Surry County. The book states that he was born in 1762 but the grave marker states that he was 100 when he died in 1848.

Nathaniel's wife was Edey "Mary" Mize (born about 1766.). They were married in North Carolina prior to 1790. Their children were: James, John, William, Mary, Milly, and Catherine. Mary died April 26, 1850 in Bartholomew County, Indiana.

There are 2 markers on his grave.
The inscription on one reads:
"N. Chambers
N.C. Mil.
Rev. War"

The inscription on the other marker reads:
"N. Chambers
Died Feb. 11, 1848.
AE 100 yrs.
A Revolutionary Soldier"

Also, the Washington County courthouse in Salem, IN has several war veteran memorials outside the courthouse. One of those lists Nathaniel as a veteran of the Revolutionary War.
