In Memory Of Felix Christopher McKean, Army Air Corps First Leutenant Felix Christopher McKean was killed in action January 12,1944 at the age of 24. He was commissioned as a bombsight specialist at Lowery Field, Denver Colorado, December 8,1941. He died while serving as Navigator-Bombadier on a B-26 Bomber downed by enemy fire while returning to it's base on Sardinia after a mission over Italy.
He had volunteered for combat duty when casualties in his outfit were near 100%.
He was born March 9,1919 in Lockesburg, Arkansas the son of David Felix and Christina Moore McKean.
He was graduate of from De Queen High School in 1936 and in 1940 from the University of Arkansas where he majored in foreign languages.
