Marion M. Altenburg Morris, 98, Janesville, a town of Belmont native and former longtime owner of Altenburg Farm Markets and Greenhouses, as well as the mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was under the care of HospiceCare Inc.
A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, March 31, at the Cargill United Methodist Church, in Janesville, with the Rev. Forrest Wells and the Rev. David Stratton, her nephew, officiating.
Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the service.
A second funeral service will take place at noon Wednesday, April 1, at the United Methodist Church in Plover. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery in the town of Plover following the service.
Visitation will be at the Plover church from 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, until the service.

Mrs. Morris was born July 4, 1910, in the town of Belmont in Portage County, a daughter of the late Joel William and Olive Isabel (Stinemates) Stratton.
She was married to Kenneth I. Altenburg on Sept. 22, 1928, in Plover. He died March 15, 1973.
They farmed in the town of Plover before starting the Altenburg Farm Markets and Greenhouses, which they ran for 23 years.
She was later married to Duffrin A. Morris, a retired Ohio educator, on July 28, 1979, in Plover. He died on Dec. 28, 1993.
They made their home in Bradenton, Fla., and summered in Plover. She later moved to Janesville to live with a daughter.
She was employed at the Normington Laundry in Stevens Point for many years.
She was a writer and handicraft artist, as well as a member of the Esther Circle at the Cargill United Methodist Church in Janesville and a former member of the United Methodist Church in Plover.
Survivors include three sons, Harold (Jean) Altenburg, Wisconsin Rapids, Neal (Annette) Altenburg, Hancock, and Thomas (Colleen) Altenburg, Crawfordsville, Fla.; two daughters, Olive Hamilton, Janesville, and Mary (Ken) Steinke, Stevens Point; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Eugene; two brothers, Edgar and Roscoe Stratton; two sisters, Belva Cole and Ina Stoltenberg; and one grandson.
