Joseph M. Buydos, 90, a resident of the Korn Krest section of Hanover Township, died Sunday at the home of his daughter in Philadelphia.
He was born in Hanover Township on Sept. 29, 1913, and was a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Ondish/ Ondis ) Buydos.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Glen Alden Coal Co., Krestes Electrical and as a Hanover Township school crossing guard. He was a life-long member of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Buttonwood, Hanover Township, and had the distinction of being awarded "Man of the Year" by its Men's Club. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Hanover Township Hacker's Club.
He was preceded in death by sister, Anne Sosik (FindAGrave #102911836); brothers, John and Andrew.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Josephine Yabluszefski; daughter, Marie Tronieri, Philadelphia; son, Joseph and wife Ellen, Alden; grandchildren, Steven, David and Robert Tronieri, Kelly Roke and Amy Buydos; two great-grandchildren, Francesca and Matthew Tronieri; sisters, Helen Stosek and Margaret Greskewicz, both of Buttonwood; several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green, Hanover Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. in the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Buttonwood.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Glen Lyon.
