After the death of her mother, her dad moved the family to San Diego, CA. Later, she married John Ehmke and they had 3 children by this union. Together, they owned and operated a small bait and tackle shop near Mission Beach, San Diego, CA. After losing John in a boating accident several years later in the San Diego Bay, she married Robert Leon Woodward and together they had 3 more children. Between this marriage, they had a total of 8 children. Madeline was a God fearing woman who taught her children about Jesus. Madeline taught Sunday School to little children as well for many years. In later years, she was a nurse's assistant in a Geriatric hospital in Santee, CA. She loved to sing and crochet.
Madeline passed away with Alzheimer's Disease at a care center in National City, CA. She loved her family very much and she is greatly missed.
