| Birth: | Sep. 12, 1938 San Antonio Bexar County Texas, USA | | Death: | Jan. 3, 2012 Twin Falls Twin Falls County Idaho, USA |  James Richard "Jay" Armstrong was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 12, 1938 to Earl Cude Armstrong of Uvalde, Texas and Edith Lucille Click of Sabinal, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Kandace Armstrong. He is survived by two daughters, Holly Hall and Glenna Burke, both of San Antonio; three sons, Matthew Armstrong of San Antonio, Eric Armstrong of Copperas Cove and Jayson Armstrong of Twin Falls, Idaho; and seven grandchildren. Armstrong was the owner and operator of Twin Falls Printing Company. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. Once out of the service, he moved to San Antonio, Houston and finally to Twin Falls, Idaho. Family members said Armstrong had a natural talent for art and music; his paintings and sculptures are treasured by his family and friends. His natural musical abilities let him play a variety of musical instruments. The family said that his favorite was playing the tuba in German polka bands. He was an accomplished artisan with a passion for refurbishing antiques, they said. He loved the outdoors, especially the views along the Snake River.
