John William Blaylock was the beloved son of Jean and John Blaylock of Warrior, Alabama.

John was a native of Warrior, but had roots in many cities across the country. His last residences were in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, California.

John attended the University of North Alabama and received a BA in Music. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and the featured vocalist at all university functions and his version of "When A Man Loves A Woman" was always a crowd favorite. John began his musical career in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where he worked with legendary producer Rick Hall.

Soon out of college, John joined the 1950s show band "Hot Wax" and started touring the country. From there, he moved to Nashville, TN, where he was a staff writer with Wrensong Music, securing cuts on several country artists. He co-wrote Ty Herndon's "A Not So Silent Night" while they were roommates.

From 1984-2004, his career took him to Los Angeles, where he lived for 13 years, and around the world. John's passionate, soring voice has taken him from Star Search Champion to the top of the charts with the international No. 1 hit song, "I'll Come Back To You", on MCA Records. He was the star vocalist for many European Tours, and gave back to his country by sharing his talents with the troops through the USO.

John performed at Opryland USA, Six Flags Over Georgia and at Disneyland in California. He was chosen by Michael Eisner to sing "When You Wish Upon A Star" for Disney's Light Magic is the voice you hear at the Disney theme parks. He has shared the stage with Tommy Tune, Joel Grey, Jennifer Holiday, Sandy Duncan, Nell Carter, and Patti LuPone. John has also written music for number films and television shows.

John's last performance was on Oceania Cruises as a guest star performer. he flew from his home in Palm Springs to Greece to start a new adventure. John was sent to a hospital in the Ukraine when he passed away suddenly.

He was a good person and will be missed by many.
