ANDREAS, JR., WILLIAM F., 75, of Ocean City, and Hobe Sound, FL, formerly of Pennington, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Bill was born in and grew up in Trenton and attended the public schools there. He was in the first class to attend and raduate from the Junior High School #2. While attending Trenton High School, he played football and swam on the swim team that became the NJSIAA and EISC Champions. After graduation, he enlisted for a tour of duty in the U.S. Army and during that tour he spent a year in Guam. During the summers, the Andreas family summered in Sea Isle City. At the age of 14, Bill joined the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol and served for ten years, the last four as Lieutenant. He also rowed doubles in competition. After his Army tour of duty, he entered Trenton State Teachers College as a member of the Physical Education Department and graduated in 1952 with a B.S. Degree. During his four years there, he played varsity soccer and was a member of the Phi Epison Kappa (National Physical Education Fraternity). In September of that year, he started teaching physical education in grades K through six in Lawrence Township. Later he changed to the junior high, and received his M.S. Degree from Trenton State Teachers College, where he served as a representative on the college alumni board. During Mr. Andreas' 34 year teaching career in Lawrence Township, he was instrumental in helping start the Little League team, and became the player agent. He coached coed varsity swimming, boys J.V., and varsity soccer, girls varsity soccer and boys golf. Bill served as a NJSIAA Official of football, basketball, and swimming, and served as President of Mercer County Swimming Officials. Bill was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Ocean City, where he was a member of Methodist Men, volunteered for the food cupboard and served on the administrative board. He was a member of Retired Educators of Cape May County, and served two terms as president. He is survived by his wife, Lois (nee Fulton) of Ocean City; two sons, William F. III and his wife Paulette and their son Peter William of Mansfield, MA, Richard Warren and his wife Marji Metlitz,
DVM, Virginia and Jacob of Mullica Hill; an uncle Bob Andreas and wife Verna of Seminole, FL; brother in law, Tom Van Orden of Beach Lake, PA and various nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Saturday morning, June 21, 2003 at eleven o'clock
from St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Central Avenue, Ocean City, where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of service. Burial will be private in the family plot in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to Lance Armstrong Cancer
