Funeral services for Callie Bailey, 102 of Grand Saline TX were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Bartley Funeral Home.
Burial followed in Small Cemetery.
Mrs. Bailey died June 29, 2006, in Grand Saline TX.
She was born August 24, 1903 in Edgewood, TX to the late Alonzo and Lillie Mae Hendricks Barker. She spent most of her life in the Grand Saline area where she was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Bailey; daughter, Nadine Bailey; brothers, Bennie Barker and Buddy Barker; sisters, Alta Preston, Ethel Armstrong, Elleree Armstrong, Juanita Norris, Cleo Smith and Leota Winstead; grandson, Ronnie William Harris; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Pollard; great-grandson, Brian Byford.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Nelma Byford, Bulverde, and Patsy and A. W. Harris, Grand Saline; brother, Billy Paul Barker, Oakland; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

H.R. No. 122

WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is truly cause for celebration, and
on August 23, 2003, Callie Bailey of Grand Saline marked this
significant milestone in her life among her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, A native of Edgewood, in Van Zandt County, she was
the oldest of her family's 10 children; today, she and her youngest
brother, Billy Paul Barker, both reside in Grand Saline; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Bailey is blessed with the love and affection
of a close-knit circle that includes two daughters, Nelma Byford
and Patsy Harris, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren,
and two great-great-grandchildren, including her namesake, Kallye
Elizabeth Harris; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated homemaker throughout her life, this
lovely lady has been highly praised for her talents as a gardener, a
quilter, and a cook; and
WHEREAS, For 100 years, Callie Bailey has enriched the lives
of countless Texans with her warmth and wisdom, and she remains an
inspiration to her family and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Callie Bailey
on the joyous occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Bailey as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
