Hubert Compton Dorsey was born 5 Jul 1882 in Mississippi to Florence Josephine Drummond and her husband Benjamin Franklin Dorsey. He graduated from the University of Mississippi 1911, and Tulane University School of Medicine 1914. He married Mary Rebecca Bourland 20 Feb 1923 in Ft. Smith Arkansas.Dr. Hubert C. Dorsey was born near Natchez or Tupelo, Mississippi. He was a college graduate of the University of Mississippi (1911) and then Tulane University School of Medicine (1914). He served 1 year (internship) at Chamberlain Sanatorium in Natchez, Mississippi and then 10 months internship at New York Hospital. Dr. Dorsey did post graduate work at Cornell University in 1920. He was a charter member of the staff of Holt Clinic (1921) and remained with this clinic in Fort Smith, Arkansas till 1954. He was then appointed resident physician at Wildcat Mountain Sanatorium. He was elected Post Surgeon of the Fort Smith American Legion and served as president of the Sebastian County Medical Society in 1940.

Dr. Dorsey married Rebecca Bourland and the couple had 3 children: Jeanne Vette( husband: Robert), of Denver, Colorado and twin sons: Drl Joseph C. Dorsey of Aurora, Colorado and Dr. Hubert Smith of Leavenworth, Kansas(both boys became dentists).
