The Logan Herald Journal (UT) > Dale Bruce Allsop, 47, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008, peacefully in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born Dec. 1, 1960, in San Antonio, TX., at the Brooks Army Hospital to Bruce and Barbara (Bateson) Allsop. Dale grew up in River Heights, UT, and attended Sky View School in Smithfield, UT. Dale was a man of many talents working many jobs. Eventually he started his own insulation business which he maintained until the time of his passing. He loved his job and took pride in everything he did. Dale and Shauna Cronquist were married on Sept. 27, 1979. They later divorced after 17 years of marriage. From that marriage came Shana and Derrick Allsop. He later met his companion Mandy Boyle and has enjoyed his life with her for the past several years. He was a loving son, father, brother and uncle. Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest doing the things he loved most. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, boating, playing cards, and most of all riding his motorcycle. Dale's favorite phrase was "Never say you can't, you can do anything you put your mind to". He truly integrated this message into all aspects of his life. Dale is survived by his loving children Shana (Justin) Thomas of Eagle Mountain, UT, and Derrick Allsop of Smithfield; his loving companion, Mandy Boyle and her daughter Bethany of Logan; his parents, Bruce and Barbara Allsop of River Heights; his sister Cathy (Lance) Johnson of Providence; and his brother, Dennis (Kim) Allsop of River Heights. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at the Park Avenue Ward, located at 940 W. Three Point Avenue. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. A viewing will also be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E. 400 North, Logan, UT. Interment will be at the Providence Cemetery in River Heights, UT. Special thanks to the Huntsman Cancer Center for the exceptional care given. We would also like to thank all of Dale's family and friends for their love and support. We will never forget you Dad, we love you!
