James Charles Carrier Jr., passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was the son of James Charles Carrier and Alberta Jones, born April 28, 1928 and raised in Los Angeles, CA.
He served in the Navy for two and a half years, served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Argentina, and graduated from Brigham Young University.
On June 6, 1949 he married his wife Billie Lou Croshaw in the Logan, Utah temple later moving to Northern California where he received his Masters from Stanford University. He taught Spanish in the bay area for the public school system for 20 years. He took his family to Switzerland to live for one year while he learned French. He later went into the restaurant business for several years and then moved to Orem, Utah where he has lived for the last 32 years.
He has served as a Bishop twice and a Branch President twice. Together with his wife they served four missions. The last couple of years he was faithful in doing sealings at the LDS temple, and volunteering at the Missionary Training Center.
He loved being busy, enjoyed his grandchildren, and loved to go places and see new sights.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Billie Lou, his 5 children, James (Kay) Carrier, John (Nancy) Carrier, Becky (Craig) Parker, Peter (Vickie) Carrier, Paul (Joyce) Carrier, 23 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and by many others who lived in his home and called him dad.
