On May 23, 1893 Cessina was born to John S Stringham of Cedar Creek, Lake County, Indiana and Martha E (Coleman) Stringham on Woodford, Illinois. They migrated to Greenwood County, Kansas and lived in Janesville, Eureka, and later retired around Sullivan, Grant County, Kansas.

On October 1, 1912, Cessina married Verner Allison Boone in Greenwood County, Kansas. He was the son of Lenox Martin K Boone and Anna Elizabeth (Houck) Boone. Lenox had migrated to that part of Kansas from Putnam County, Indiana - a line of Boones that had descended from Squire Boone b.1744, the younger brother of the famous explorer Colonel Daniel Boone.

Cessina and Verner's known children were Elizabeth M, Rachel, Myron Allison, and Alice Marie.
