FATHER ALPHONSE HOEGEN was a Roman Catholic priest of the Dioceses of St. Louis and Jefferson City in Missouri.
Born in St. Louis in 1897, his father Prof. Paul Hoegen was a liturgical artist and his mother was a homemaker. The Hoegen family were parishioners of St. Francis DeSales Church on St. Louis' South Side.
Ordained by Archbishop John J. Glennon in 1922 at the St. Louis (New) Cathedral, Fr. Hoegen served in various pastoral assignments in his career, with his last being chaplain of St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He is buried on the Priests' Lot at Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City.
