John Thomas Fleming is the son of Mark Fleming and Florence Rushton of Philadelphia . He has a older brother George H. and younger sister Blanche E.

John married Mabel Curror ,June 1, 1912.They had two sons John Curror Fleming born in Sept 1913 and William M.Fleming born a few years later. John and Mabel divorced in the 1950's, John never remarried.

John worked at the Philadelphia post office starting out as a bookkeeper and working his way to "Superintendent of Delivery" he retired after 46 years service, on June 30, 1959.The Following was written by his friends for his retirement party:

John will always be known as the''Patron Saint of Nicetown Station.'' He thoroughly enjoyed himself at the racetrack. Occasionally took a trip over to the racing courses in New York City. He was a charter member of a club for men of distinction which is located in the vicinity of Kensington and Allegheny Avenues. In his younger days, he was quite a soccer player. Had been a Phillies rooter for many, many, years. His son and grandson also had carers with the post office, in Atlanta, Georgia and Philadelphia, respectively.

" Unique for John is everyone remembers not the same memories but different. This is a tribute in itself, armlink together, help us form a chain that shall remain unbroken"..

John passed away from a Stroke, he rest beside his parents and sister Blanche Strohm and her husband Frederick Strohm at the Oakland cemetery, in Philadelphia. We don't know where brother George is located. If there are any Fleming/Curror/Strohm relatives out there we would love to hear from you.
