Troy L. Bratton, 44, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at his home in Ford.
He was born Nov. 18, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Gerald F. and Romona J. Raleigh Bratton. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Forestry in 1989.
A resident of Ford since 2000, Mr. Bratton was a district forester with the Kansas Forest Service of Kansas State University and was an associate professor of forestry at KSU. He was a member of the Christian Bow Hunters Association, Society of American Foresters and Alcoholics Anonymous and was a past president of the Great Plains Forestry Association.
Survivors include two sons, Jeromy and Jacob, both of Ford; his parents, of Alexandria, Neb.; a sister, Tonya Dixon of Uniontown; his grandmother, Justene Raleigh of Marion; and his companion, Tammy Lane-Reese of Ulysses.
Funeral was at the First Southern Baptist Church in Dodge City, officiated by Greg Savage, pastor.
