Memorial services will be held 5:30 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at New Summit Presbyterian Church, Lee's Summit, MO & 3:30 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, MO. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc or American Cancer Society . Roy was born October 30, 1949 in Carrollton, MO to Herbert Carter & Annabelle Bigby. He graduated from Carrollton HS in 1967. He worked for Banquet Foods for 19 years in Carrollton, MO and was most recently employed by Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation where he received the 2009 Employee of the Year award and in 2010 was recognized by the department for 15 years of service. Roy was a member of the New Summit Presbyterian Church, Lee's Summit, MO. He is preceded in death by; siblings Betty Bigby & Charles Lester Bigby, his parents, and half sister, Thelma Wayland.
