Hal was the son of edward and cecil charboneau. He was in the Army. He was in a car accident in 1967 and lost both legs. He went through a lot of hard times and still managed to be a great uncle to me . My father died in the same accident and Hal told me it devastated him and caused him alot of guilt... well uncle Hal hope you are sittin with dad up in heaven knowing that I never blamed you, even if you blamed yourself... and Im sure dad never would have either... miss and love you.

There is an episode of “Grave Secrets” on Investigation Discovery (ID) TV “The Secret Code” (2018) documenting his life and how he came to be murdered. “A single footprint is the only clue when Hal Charboneau is found stabbed to death is his Portland home. When police learn of a bitter divorce and custody battle, they question his ex-wife. But they soon discover that Hal is not the only murder victim.”
