Frances was born at the family residence at 31 4th Street, Norwich Connecticut. The family later moved to 84 4th Street and 103 4th Street. She attended grammer school at St. Mary's Catholic School, Norwich where she graduated in 1938. She attended Norwich Free Academy and took secretarial courses and was a member of the Drum Corps.
After she graduated in 1942, she worked for the Thermos Company until her marriage on Thanksgiving Day (November 23rd)in 1944 to John Richard Barnard, Sr.

She and her husband moved to Alabama to settle and with the exception of a short period in Atlanta, GA, and Knoxville, TN, they resided in Anniston/Birmingham finally settling in Anniston.

She worked at 3rd Army (Patton Hall, Ft.McPherson as a Civil Service worker while in Atlanta. During the time she lived in Knoxville, Tennessee (1952), she worked for Glazier Steel Corporation. She and her husband both worked for TCI (Tennessee Coal and Iron) company when in Birmingham.

Once the family settled in Anniston, she worked at Monsanto Chemical Company for 27 years retiring in 1980. She was a secretary in the Maintenance Department.
Frances was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Hobbies: reading, cross-word puzzles, classic movies. Frances loved her Irish and German heritage and spoke often and fondly of her (Ryan Family) Irish Aunts/Uncles.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and true friend.
She passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years, 3 months, 4 days.
