Caroline "Carrie" Scheidt Armbrust
Birth: Jan. 9, 1855

Ohio, USA
Death: Jan. 9, 1929
Hamilton County
Ohio, USA

Daughter of Johann 'John' Scheidt a native of the Pfalz area of Germany and Catharina Jung a native of Haschbach am Remigiusberg, Landkreis Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.

Wife of Adam Armbrust native of Haßloch, Kreis Bad Dürkheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany; son of Adam Marcus Armbrust and Anna Katharina Gramlich. They were married September 10, 1874 at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.
He is buried at St. Mary Cemetery in St. Bernard, Hamilton County, Ohio.

Despite knowing she could never rest beside her husband, as she was not a member of the Catholic Church, she still had him buried in a Catholic Cemetery to honor him and his faith. She marked his grave with a marble gravestone which is upright and slopes from back to front. Perpetual care has been paid on his grave, the marker his wife lovingly had placed should always be upright and maintained.

She was called 'MUTTI' by everyone in the family, including in-laws of in-laws who did not have a drop of German blood in them. Some even called her 'Grandma Mutti.' I have never heard so many people speak so kindly of someone. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her always echo the same theme, everyone loved her, she was so loving and kind. These words came from people who did not hesitate to share their true feelings about others of whom they were not so fond.

My mother, a small child when 'Mutti" died vividly remembers her and loved her very much. 'Mutti' would play with her all the time and often in the Summer they would sit on the front porch together.

She is the mother of Katherine Armbrust Grimm.
Grandmother of Irma Caroline Grimm, Frederick Irvin Grimm, Rosalie Norma Grimm Kuethe, and Elmer Harrold Grimm.
Great-Grandmother of Audrey Eloise Kuethe Leeser, Gloria Rose Kuethe Meyer, and Doris Lee Grimm Eades.
Great-Great Grandmother of Kathy Eades, Charles Eades, David Eades, Gregg Lewis Kuethe Leeser, Kathleen Rose Leeser Whelihan, Cheryl Lee Meyer Green, Kimberly Rose Meyer Haydon, and Richard Keith Meyer.
Great-Great-Great Grandmother of Daniel Ian Meyer, Dana Loren Meyer Lovelady, and Melissa Rose Haydon.

Caroline Scheidt Armbrust is the niece of Daniel Jung, a successful brewer in Cincinnati (Weyand and Jung, later Jung Brewery) and the first cousin of Magdalena (Lena) Jung Sohn who is the wife of the owner of the Sohn Brewery (also known as Clyffside). Many of Mrs. Armbrust's descendants are buried on the lot purchased by Lena Sohn at Spring Grove Cemetery.
It is planned to have her relocated to that lot as well so she can rest with her family.
