the following is a poem written about Roy Breakfield by his granddaughter Ellie Cook.
My grandfather stands
In the doorway,
Strong and Majestic.
I look in his eyes,
So soft and Loving,
I see the Punishment Time has dealt him.
In the tan weary lines of his face,
I see the years and the ways he has fought for his family.
His hair, now thin and gray,
Tremors in the wind.
The body, that once belonged to a young man,
Has been molded and transformed
Into the Mountain of Knowledge
By the rock of experiance and the winds of time.
My Grandfather's hands, callused and rugged,
Swell with strength
His rugged voice,
Convays his love
And expresses his sprit of
My Grandfather stands
In the doorway,
Clinging to the past
Yet eager for the future.
